PHOS-4-FADE, Phosphorus removal filter with activated alumina
Who said that phosphorus removal cannot be simple ? Our passive PHOS-4-FADE reactive filter does not require electricity, does not have any mechanical components and does not produce any sludge. When combined with the HYDRO-KINETIC system, it become the total protection barrier for lakes and drinking water resources.
PHOS-4-FADE is certified to NQ 3680-910 and CAN/BNQ 3680-600 standards and can ne used in residential, commercial, institutional and communal applications.
Efficient and economical
Using activated alumina as reactive media having strong adsorption properties for phosphorus, the PHOS-4-FADE unit removes phosphorus to levels below 1 mg/l using only simple upflow filtration.
Like a magnet, the activated alumina beads capture phosphorus and binds it with strong physical attraction. The high porosity of the media offer huge surface area assuring removal for many years before any replacement is needed. Life expectancy depends on the intial phosphorus levels and flow rate. Average lifespan of the filter is estimated at +/- 10 years. Filter replacement is done using a vaccum truck such as those used for septic tanks.
PHOS-4-FADE is used at the end of the treatment train where the effluent is already highly treated. This allow the media to react only with phoisphorus and optimizes its life expectancy.
