Specifications

The L Series primarily offers fixed wall-mounted LADDERS (L1B and L1D) custom-built from aluminum or stainless steel for permanent access to tanks and pits. These LADDERS are designed for durability in highly corrosive environments and feature welded non-slip rungs for safety. The main complementary product is the safety ladder extension (L1E), which is a telescopic device added to the top of the fixed ladder. This extension allows the handrail to be extended above ground or hatch level to ensure a safe transition when entering and exiting, before retracting to allow the access cover to be closed.

L1B AND L1D SERIES LADDERS

The uprights are made of extruded aluminum profile measuring 13 mm x 70 mm (1/2 in. x 2 3/4 in.) and spaced 406 mm (16 in.) apart. The wall spacers are made of 10 mm x 64 mm (3/8 in. x 2 1/2 in.) flat bar and welded to the uprights with a maximum center-to-center distance of 1.5 m (60 in.). These spacers have a minimum height of 178 mm (7 in.) and are designed to be flush with the wall. The 35 mm (1 3/8 in.) diameter “D” type rungs, with a flat non-slip surface, are spaced 305 mm (12 in.) apart and welded to the outside of each upright.

L1E SERIES LADDERS

The aluminum housing is attached to the LADDER using stainless steel clamps, which are themselves attached to the rungs by stainless steel U-bolts. The aluminum telescopic column extends 940 mm (37 in.) for model A and 864 mm (34 in.) for model B above the housing and locks into position with a stainless steel pin.

Your questions, our answers

What is the load capacity of a Halliday ladder?

Permanent access ladders must generally withstand a high minimum point load. Typical manufacturer specifications for their ladders far exceed the requirements to ensure user safety.

How are the LADDERS secured in the concrete manhole?
Should LADDERS be inspected regularly?
