R&D Technician - Decentralized wastewater treatment

About the job

As an R&D technician, you will hold a cross-functional position combining project support, field testing and commissioning, and continuous process improvement.

Main responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and improvement of systems;
  • Set up and operate test benches in laboratories or controlled environments;
  • Perform performance tests;
  • Ensure the calibration and maintenance of equipment;
  • Participate in the installation and commissioning of pilot units;
  • Perform on-site sampling;
  • Monitor system operations (flow rates, loads, purification efficiency) and document performance;
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization;
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve technical issues;
  • Build assemblies and prototypes and install them in the field.
  • Participer à la conception et à l’amélioration des systèmes;

Desired profile

  • AEC or DEC in water technology, environment, engineering, biotechnology, or a related field, or relevant experience in the desired field;
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience (an asset);
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Independent, methodical, analytical, and thorough;
  • Manual skills and resourcefulness (manufacturing, plumbing, electricity), an asset;
  • Excellent command of French;
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, an asset;
  • Able to read diagrams, plans, and follow protocols;
  • Available for regional travel with some overnight stays.
